i've found myself smack dab in the middle of a very happy, very safe place.  totally at peace with my life, who i am, where i'm going, and who i share love with.  granted: life = impermanence, it's a daily fight to feel these feelings, but this is where i sit right now and it feels very good.

on sunday i had a dream that there were big, carnivorous dinosaurs coming for us.  i pictured them stomping down our home and ripping us out of it. i knew we had to go deeper into the house to be safe.  E and I and went downstairs to try to make preparations for our hiding place when we found a new door.  the door led us down another staircase into a room we had never seen before but was waiting for us.  it was abounding with fine white linens, a comfortable bed, and beautiful vases filled with candles.  i instantly felt peace, i knew we'd be safe there.

the next night i dreamt about a zombie attack.  now, i've never dreamt of either dinosaurs or zombies, but here they were, back to back.  we were in a church this time with many other people.  these floating orbs were drifting around a large room and if they were consumed by someone, they would turn into zombies when the room was electrified.  we knew the charge was coming but there was a yellow square in one corner of the room that we would be safe in.  it fit all 6 members of my family perfectly.  when the charge of electricity came, my family was protected. we were in a safe place.

for me, the point of this is that my safe place can't be created by anyone else, it has to come from deep within me.  and on the same token, while my safe place might be rattled by the seeming carnage around, i can choose to exist in peace within.
