at 7:54 am, eight years ago, she came floating into the world. i delivered in a waterbirth tub in our tiny, college apartment after 7 hours of hard labor. convinced that she was actually a he, i counted every little toe and finger before discovering that E had made her appearance before F. and i've thanked God every day since for sending them in this order. she is the kindest, giggliest, most giving child a mama could ask for and i'm honored to be her mother.
now, if you would, if you have any special memories of lil' E, or a birthday wish, will you leave them here for her?

Shay-Sha! HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY! This is a big birthday for you, and I wish I was in Utah to CELEBRATE! Your a gorgeous girl, and I always had so much fun babysitting you when you were just teeny-tiny! I remember taking you to one of my 7th grade classes for an hour, and everybody thought you were the cutest! You were so small and just so darn cute! I have adored you ever since I got to be one of the first in this world to see your little face. One of my favorite memories is the day at church when Joseph somehow got you laughing hysterically. You were just a few months old. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Elaisha! You are such a great girl and you are going to grow up into a magnificent woman. You remind me so much of your mother, but you are such a unique girl, too. I will always remember how you help take care of everyone around you and how you always know what all the adults are talking about, even when we dont' want you to. :) I hope your birthday is magical!
