January 24, 2010 at 7:38 PM i've had a serious case of the grumpies. i believe in america they call it depression. january is relentless for me, kids get sick, it's too cold to play outside,
and utah had the WORST air in the entire country this year... so even the sun hid her face from me. it's been rather ridiculous if you ask me.
so when a storm came though and pushed our disgusting, revolting inversion out to the east (sorry colorado!), the sun came gleaming, shining through my windows. my heart shattered from it's frozen state and i sobbed for the umpteenth time this month, but this time for joy.
the sun had returned and brought with it a sense of joy. i purred and curled up next to the window, moving only when the sun moved.
it was late afternoon as i sat on my red couch and H was jumping on me. the sun rocked on,
illuminating the ends of her eyelashes and i finally reached for my camera.
we cuddled and i clicked. and i felt more like jenica than i had in a long time.
i'm also happy to report that her reflective pools haven't changed as she's aged.
proof's in the first pic.

Welcome back Jenica! I've missed you. (PS I have the winter blues this BAD this time around and I heard D3 vitamins and lamps really help, don't know if you've already tried those things but I'm headin' to Costco first thing Pay-day morning to give 'em a shot!)
hugging you now, long and tight.
so glad to know the light worked its way in.
love to you, Vx
I was going to blog about this exact same thing...the sun and how it feels like you return to life when it comes back. Really, it makes me glad for the discontent days because the joy of recognizing yourself coming to life again is exquisite.
I love your blogs, I love your words, I love your pictures. You make me feel less alone on days that I feel just that.
oh these are beautiful photos. love the light, golden and warming. glad you are finding your way back :)
it never fails to amaze me how deep and soulful children's eyes are. Beautiful photos!
