sweet sommers girls #3

last night i had a dream that i was at squam but had somehow forgotten all of my art supplies! but bad dreams have nothing on the spirit of squam, even in my dream people offered art supplies everywhere i went and i came home in the dream with more than i had. of course... that's exactly how it would have gone and kelly would have been one of the first to offer. i met kelly the last night of squam last year, having seen her cuteness gracing the grounds of SAW but never really getting a chance to talk. and then as serendipity would have it we ended up going to the corner pub after vendor night and i was smitten, SMITTEN i tell you. her sass, style, spunk; i adore her. so hip and cool, i wanna be like her.

she describes herself like this: "i am a freelance graphic designer and mixed media artist. i have been known to paint on glass, bowling pins and found wood. i love music, live music -- even better. i have a taste for fine beers and bold colors. i am the mom to three gorgeous, funny kids. i love to ride my bike pearl and i treasure my circle of artistic chicks."

i can attest to her fine taste in beers because when she ordered at corner pub her first 5 choices weren't even carried. ;-D and she IS bold colors.
she also turns her art work into gorgeous baubles and has these awesome notecards.
for this week's giveaway we'll be sampling from her happy girl shop. two prints will go to one lucky commenter, please comment on what your favorite color is. since i'm starting a little later in the week, comments will be closed on friday, august 7th, 2009 at 11:59 pm MST.
kelly can be found at her site and in her shop

LOVE the art pieces!

My favorite color is periwinkle ~ but many blues (& greens) will do. I guess i love blue so much because i love water!!! for many reasons. And the blue sky. And green grass to roll in. And . . . just being outside on a beautiful sunny day. Okay so maybe that's a little more in depth than you wanted, but i couldn't stop sharing. (:

Favorite color--it's a tie between lime green and vermillion orange! Maybe together makes the perfect combination!

I would love to win some of this gorgeous art. I would be honored!

hmmmm.....
my favorite color?

the red that tells tales of lusciousness and lips.
candy apples shining,
rose bud tips.
passion and fire...
and romance come true.
heart beats and sunsets
breathing life into you.

you feed my hunger every time you write about squam! ;)

big, hungry sigh.

love you mama.

sigh...i wish i could go to squam, too.

i think you should all make a trip to baltimore before...or after. road trip with your girls? what could be better? : D

i can't wait to meet her :-)

if i must absolutely pick a favourite, it would have to be purple, the colour of grape pop spashed across a yellow sun laying against a chartreuse grass stain.

The color of passion, of fire, of spirit. The color of my jeep and my daughters favorite baby. The color I love to wear when I need to feel powerful or feisty. The color I wore to celebrate my freedom. The color that makes me feel the most "me". Red.

Since I won last week I don't feel worthy of playing again, but I like the question so I'll answer anyway!

My favorite color in the Crayola box (the BIG box, no meager little box of 8 for this kid) was always cerulean blue. But as I grew up I also realized how much I love fern, and dandelion, and burnt sienna, and lavender and oh my gosh! red orange. . . .

I think Georgia O'Keefe said it best: "I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way--things I had no words for."

The color blue speaks to my heart. The ocean and the sky. It all makes me smile and fee happy.

Oh how I wish I was attending squam this year. Reading all of this floods me with memories and brings longings of being there in September. I know you girls will have a blast!! I can't wait to hear your stories and see your photos.

I love all color, I like to think of myself as a colorful babe, but a lush, grassy green is my very favorite color of all.

Wow, love it. Like, really really love it.

My favorite color is green. Second fave is orange. Is that more than you needed? =)
