sweet sommers girls #2
July 27, 2009 at 11:18 AM as i think about my yummy cabin filled up with so much goodness, the lake, the beauty, the raw intensity of creating art with hearts full and open, the nights of giggling and chatting, the souls i look forward to reuniting with... i have a hard time not wishing away the rest of my summer to just get on a plane and get there RIGHT now. ;-D but 7 weeks? i can do that!
i starting reading kristen about 2 years ago and the first thing i noticed about her was her fairy energy. and after meeting her in person i dare say that she flits along wherever she goes. she is gregarious and funny, driven and intelligent, a roller derby queen, an acupuncturist and chinese herbalist, a fantastic mother, and an avid lover of all things photography. she is self effacing, complex, giving, and open minded. i just love her. must.stop.now.before.i.start.to.cry
as she wrote of her giveaway pics: "I was going to send summer-y photos, then in the spirit of Squam, I'm sending two 5x5 prints of polaroids I took last year from my cabin, belltower 89, with my polaroid 600 camera and 600 film. I took one on the porch and one from the dock."
so for me, and for anyone that has been to squam these pics are certain to bring back a feeling of nostalgia. but for anyone that hasn't been to squam, they are peaceful and introspective prints. for me the spirit of squam is that you have the courage to dig deep within yourself, the arms to openly embrace and buoy those around you, and the determination to go for the things you most want.

I am inspired by a new/old friend that the internet reintroduced me to. She has twin boys just a couple of months younger than mrO and is a crafty mama and sweet sweet lady.

i adore kristen so much, she was one of very first blogs i started to read way back when and still love reading and checking in on what she shares with us, which is always so real, honest, and beautiful... i love & treasure my memory of sitting on the stairs with her last year at squam having a brown paper bag lunch together.
i will so miss not being there with all of you beautiful souls this fall.
