oooeeee.....8 super fun girls in one cabin...i see no sleep! :0) xx
my favorite summer memory is more a category of memories: they all take place at dusk, involve slurpees outside, and the presence of friends and family just hanging out. the location varies, but the setting/feeling is always the same.
butterfly flutters...nervous lilting
laughter....leaping....soaring...
suspended sundrops sparkling
as I dive off the pier for the
very first time...

The sound of the cicada's eee aww eee awwing in the warm humid air...
Fave summer memory = a fire circled by wise women, tribal drums, and many voiced stories.
My favorite summer memory is more a state of mind...the first summer Linc and I hung out we both quit our jobs and used the money we had saved to live carelessly, barefoot, and fancy free. Early mornings, late nights, movies and feet stained black.
so many to choose from! one of my favorite summer memories is following the trail of a treasure hunt my parents set up on my 7th birthday in this old Victorian home my grandparents had rented on the Cape. It was such a magical experience. :-)
hmm. probably camping with friends. drinking wine, trips to the beach to play and kick water at each other. laughing. lots of laughing.
oh how fun!
my favorite summer memories would be hanging out at the local public pool all day almost every day with my friends. diving for pennies and perfecting my back-diving skills.
my grandmother gardening
favorite summer memories: meandering road trips (with freuqnet stops in quanit towns) to see far-flung family members.
beuaitful giveaway, btw. :)
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

my favorite summer memory?
a weekend clothed in celebration~
a constant toe in the river below~
hands dirty from scratching the back of mama earth~
eyes closed under the stars~
asleep with the soundtrack of crickets and locust and churning water making it's way.
watching summer rainstorms from our front porch, running out into the storms with our swimsuits on, dancing and feeling so free!
Lovely blog by the way!
Climbing a tree, picking unripe cherries from a neighbors yard, climbing onto the roof the house, jumping and landing on a mattress below... (much to the shrieks of my mother when she me!)
:-)
those look like drops of water suspended in a necklace!
hmm... my favorite summer memories?
Well I have two.
One was August 12, 2000
and the other was July 13, 2005.
The days that my gorgeous and amazing children were born.
Has to be our ill fated trip to the coast Duke and me swimming in the lake till our lips turned blue. Best road trip evah!
My favorite summer time memory is from my childhood in Florida (I live in New England now). It used to be so hot at night that we would jump in the pool right before bed to cool off. I have so many great memories of going to bed in the 100 degree weather with wet chlorine smelling hair.
lying on the pool deck
listening to the birds
and lawn mowers
and bees
on the clover.
xx
Grandma and grandpa's house on the lake. Lots of trees. Fresh raspberries and strawberries from the garden. Tree swings. A boat on the grass to explore. The rocks along the shore. A dock to fall off. A baby brother to save.
(it's my first memory - I was 3)
sunny sundays are my favorite summer memory. sitting by the pool with my mom and my aunt relaxing. my dad coming by. grilling a delicious dinner, fun conversation, and enjoying each others company. it is the time together that i cherish.
The summer before my senior year of high school: hanging with all my friends all the days and nights through. Bliss.
Sitting on the porch in the golden dusk, sipping sun tea and reading a good book (but really watching the cars drive by with the cute boys blaring their music). Ah, high school...
It's a toss up. My childhood - camping, climbing trees, running around the neighborhood until after dark, playing flashlight tag with my brothers and sisters. Or, the beginning of adulthood, the summer I met my husband and spent every waking moment getting to know him. But really, can anything beat flashlight tag?
campfires, smores, fresh cherries, cool trees, summer heat, shorts & t-shirts, scars on knees, grass stains, dirt smudges, naps, no school!
