haiku: our bodies cradled

hand upon his chest
life against my fingertips
despite his repose

time's only measure
as ocean's emanation,
the sync of our breath

daily atonement
regrets, worries wiped away
through our whispered words.

It's a beautiful thing when we can find atonement and peace.
