celebrations,
gratitude,
the hubs
April 13, 2009 at 8:03 PM last weekend my husband went upstairs to take a shower and came back downstairs with a stache. now, don't get me wrong, i love me some facial hair... but a mustache? that's a caterpiller of the mouth in my opinion. it's no stretch of the truth to say that i refused to kiss him until it was shaved (2 days later). now with a new goatee growing in i wish him the happiest of birthdays. 33 years he's lived on this earth, and i've only known him for about 9 of those years.
.:i'm grateful for the man i married, how we've grown and changed together, and how he stands as the voice of reason in my times of insanity.
.:i'm grateful for his support in my artistic endeavors, sacrificing his own time and money in order to give me the gift of allowing my talents to blossom.
.:i'm grateful for his keen mind and intellect; that he's a constant seeker of light and truth; that he encourages me to never settle for mediocrity.
.:i'm grateful for his enduring love as the father to our children. how when he comes home from work, he is h.o.m.e., present, and ready for tickle fights or art projects or math lessons.
.:i'm grateful for him, all of him.

Linc has slipped the stash in on me a few times and it is never well received :)
Happy Birthday to your #1 Man!
caterpiller of the mouth makes me laugh. Chris has a turkey beard (apparently it's turkey season and we live in hunter-ville).
Happy birthday, John!
Cody gave himself a mustache when he shaved before church on Sunday. I walked into the bathroom as he was putting the finishing touches on it and yelled, "absolutely not!"
He looked like Jeff Foxworthy... or a pedophile...
Then he shaved off half of it and said he was starting a new trend called, "The onesie." Too bad he didn't know about J's mustache sooner. They could have attempted "the onesie" together and compared results.
Happy Birthday, J!
Happy Birthday to your man!
I made my man grow a mustache before we got married. I KNOW. I don't know what I was thinking, either. After I saw it in the wedding pictures, I made him shave it. He was quite relieved.
You have such a way with words. This was beautiful. Happy Birthday John!
awwwwwwwwwwwww
happy birthday john!!
... i am the odd woman who loves the facial hair. duke shaved it all off last year and i freaked ~ bring back the grizzly adams beard, tee hee ... thankfully it grew back in no time :-)
Happy Birthday to him!!!
This is such a wonderful post, such beautiful words of gratitude and love. It sounds like you found the perfect match to all of your beauty! xox
Happy birthday, John!
(I love me a goatee, too. But not a 'stache.)
