February 24, 2009 at 7:59 PM i am *almost* there on this piece,
but i simply can't wait to show it,
consider it my one-year-of-painting
celebration.
it's been about a month in the making
and i'm learning
so
so
so
much.
i was getting stuck with the color so my teacher had me flip it so that i could see shapes and shades instead of nostrils and ear lobies. it made all the difference in the world.
one more week and i think she'll be done and hopefully up in my shop.
then i can really start on my first self portrait. can we say terrified together?

Pardon my potty mouth... or typing fingers... But SERIOUSLY!
That is amazing! I am in awe of anyone who can see something and recreate it and make it their own. I never, in a million years, would have thought to flip it over. It's beautiful!
Awesome.

Wow. That is so beautiful! Fantastic job. I like the idea of flipping it to get a different perspective. Maybe I'll tell mike that someday when he's stuck on a project.
You are amazing. I thought you said you were "taking a class"... you should be teaching one, girl. So incredibly well done.
