September 24, 2008 at 1:10 AM as i neared the fence, they each took a cautious step backwards. i'm not sure what i expected to happen, maybe have them fly over and peck my eyes out?
then this little man, right in front, let out a friendly cry...
and they came.
in a hurry, i might add;
galloping as quickly as they could
to stand near this human that
just.
might.
have.
food.
i hollered to the hubs to roll down the windows, i wanted the kids to hear their happy gurgly chirps. they all squealed with delight from their carseats.
and this guy, my first friend, was seriously working it for the camera.
so let me ask you... what ugly thing(s) did you find joy and beauty in today?

this morning, i saw my breathe frosty in the air but the way the autumn light danced down on it, took my breath away :) xo
I got to change Mia's poopy butt today. Since I've started back to work, that's not something I thought I'd miss so much.
oh girlie... i so hate turkeys and chickens. you should hear the storys my siblings tell on me when we had a little farm. i would do anything to get out of feeding those nasty things.
we had a turkey name shep. he would lay on a frisbee like he had laid eggs. talk about an odd bird.

oh, i want to hear their happy girgly chirps, too! hmmm...what ugly thing did i find joy and beauty in today? the massive pile that is my creative space, at the moment. it's a chaotic mess of paints and papers and UHU glue sticks. it's overflowing with beautiful potential!
