E & F started swimming lessons this week. those of you who know me well know that i am not a fan of the water. there's too much at stake in my opinion. but i want my kids to be comfortable... so when we go swimming ONCE every couple of years, they don't drown me.
this is their first course so they are learning how to blow bubbles, hold their breath under water, kick and splash, go on train rides around the pool, get dunked under to fetch rings, go down a tube slide, and even jump off of the board.
they took F up there first because he was the most freaked out. She grabbed him by his life jacket and attempted to throw him off. F's response was to spread his arms and legs out like a cat, somehow pressing himself agains walls of air.
moments later he was still hurled into the water.

luckily no damage has been done. they still love going to the pool. although they're not too big on the idea of ever walking the plank again.

Great action shots! And I'm with you on the water thing...it totally freaks me out! Are "E & F" twins?
Oh jenica that is so cute! love his cat pose.
Have you shown F his awesome action shots? Maybe if he sees how cool he looks he'll be inspired to walk the plank with more enthusiasm. Hee hee!
all in due time... he'll get on again... when he is ready!
the music goes so well with the major new swimming adventures!
Cool Mama! xx
I should have read here before I commented in Flickr-- I thought it was E getting thrown in the water!
I'm glad he's not scared of the pool! I was a woosy when I was little so I probably would have gone on a pool boycott for awhile after that!
i guess i need to clarify a few things. ;-D
1) E and F are not twins, although they look and act like they are. they are actually 18 months apart.
2)the picture set here is of F, the picture set on my flickr is of E's reaction to being thrown in the water. i tried to give them their own story, but i didn't explain it well enough.
and britt, when i showed F the pics by the pool his reply was, "...i hated that." poor boy. :-P
