i think the hardest pieces to put away are the pajamas.
the tiny jeans, shoes, shirts, and hats are easy;
they are quickly sorted, folded, and put at the bottom of the bin.
but the pajamas,
the stripped pajamas,
those snaps that held all three of my girls,
those polka dots that lulled them into happy slumber;
they tear a little hole in my heart.
who gave my baby permission to grow up so quickly?
i store her clothes knowing that i may never
have another little girl to put them in.
my heart aches already.

i hear you. i am way too nostalgic, i become so attached to the little pyjamas and outfits for my baby boy, they all have a "story" attached. my nostalgia becomes so overwhelming that i have started doing a photo session each time i retire a new batch of clothes, surrounding him with the clothes that goes into storage and then photos with the favourite outgrown clothes drapped over him to make sure i capture these memories (and all his funny expressions). the problem is??? he is only 3 months old today! that means a LOT of photo sessions ahead and nostalgia over the next few years of growth spurts! haha

Man - it really does go by fast! Mia will be 1 tomorrow ... And I don't know how you've done 3 girls. 1 is enough to do me in.
oh i love her! They are ALL growing up to fast while were gone!! Im worried thy wont even remember me when we get back!!
The pajamas get me too. And the socks. And those one piece sleeper pants sets.
awwwwwwwww ... but think someday they will look so cute on the many many grandkids ;-) tee hee
Aaawwww....she's so beautiful.
And even not being a mom, I hear you. My boss is selling tickets to a child's playhouse that's being raffled off for charity and it made me sad to realize that even my nieces and nephews are now too old to enjoy something like that. :-/ I'm thinking I might buy a couple of tickets anyway though. In the unlikely event I win, I could give the playhouse to the local women's shelter.
Awww... I feel the same way about a 3month sized blue layette covered in little yellow duckies that every one of my boys has worn. Its the only piece of clothing I've kept. I plan to frame that little layette and keep it always.
I agree with everyone else. It goes WAY too fast. Although I was lucky because she's been in "little" clothes for a very long time. It's great to see your blog. And it sounds like you're doing great! :)
She's so adorable. I feel your pain of watching her grow (and grow out) so quickly.
Oh, I go through this all the time. They are in such a hurry, aren't they? Austin is 13 now and I would give almost anything to have him snuggly fluffy in my arms again. I'm very sentimental, so I know how you feel. She's still a baby though, as are all your wee ones-- so cuddle them close!
