we've been planting and painting
eating french bread on countertops, our hair in a tizzy
we've been LEARNING, their little minds are running constantly with new and happy ideas:
e: how old are you and how old is daddy?
me: i'm 25 and daddy's 31
e: so he's 6 years older than you!
(um, yeah, she just turned 6... and she totally just did that in her head)
f: knock knock
everyone: who's there?
f: po-weeze!
everyone: police who?
f: po-weeze tuwn off da wights!
we've been riding our powerwheels
until our hands are frozen to the handlebars
running inside for our last chance at hot cocoa
with marshmallows or whipped cream
my knight in shining armour
sometimes wearing snow boots,
sometimes cowgirl boots,
sometimes sandals (but mostly because we're in denial)
ready
ready
ready
for winter to be done with
