this is me last night at around midnight at my birth center:
this is me today:
notice anything????? perhaps a large protrusion where you shouldn't have one after delivering a baby???
so last night contractions started around 9 pm. from 10-11 they were anywhere from 3-9 minutes apart. and by 11 they were down to 2-3 minutes apart. so we packed up, called a neighbor, called the imperative relatives that would be helping, and headed on into the birth center. my other labors have gone so quickly that we just knew we had to get there as quickly as possible.
i was only dilated to a 2 when we got there, which wasn't discouraging to me because we all KNOW how fast my deliveries go. i was relaxed, i was happy, i was breathing deeply. we watched a movie, we had some toast and fruit. and then i had a series of really, really intense contractions that were almost 2 minutes long with only a break of about 30 seconds between them. i thought to myself, "here we go!" so we moved back to the bed to be more comfortable, i plugged in my walkman with my hypnobirthing cd and i began to prepare for serious labor.....
i woke up an hour later. the contractions were GONE. i was so embarrassed, so frustrated, so bummed out. so we came home.
i've spent today with lots of energy, running around with my mom who is now in town for the blessed event... the event that may or may not happen while she's here. BOO HOO!

Maybe baby couldn't rely on the directions it was given and was just familiarizing itself with route.
Cause no one wants to have to stop and ask for directions on the big day.
i'm smiling...not laughing...because that would be mean...and i'm not a mean person...and i like you...because you've always been really sweet to me...okay, so maybe i let out a tiny, tiny little giggle...but that's only because i think you're adorable and really a very funny person :-) ...and because you have 3 children and so you should know better...that just when you think you have it all figured out...they change it all up!!! you're going to have your hands full with this one...'cause this little girl's already got you driving all over town ;-)
but seriously, jenica...
i'm too far away to actually help in a physical sense...but i'm sending you strength and support and a quick return to the birthing centre...before your mom leaves.
i'm staying tuned...
sweet blessings,
xo

Sending you ALL my *quick go into labor now and have the sweet new baby so mom can see* vibes I can. Sending them right now!
xoxoxo
I'm seconding what Kirsten said - just when you think you have it all figured out! Funny how all deliveries are just as different as your children. You'd think since they're all coming out of YOUR body - they would all be somewhat similar?!
I *really* hope little H decides it's time. What a teaser. ((Hugs))
Oh my gosh!!! This is so exciting. And you look so relaxed today, I can't even believe you were having those contractions just a little while ago.
oh i hope hope hope the baby wants to show herself while mom is in town!
on a side note; have you done hypnobirthing before? i'm just curious how successful or useful the techniques are...
I don't know you- just bounced around on links and ended up here. I hope you have your baby in your arms soon!
Bless your heart! I did that 3 nites in a row with Livie. I didn't go to the hospital because my labors go oh so slow, but I contracted regularly ALL nite only to stop in the morning. Until the morning my water broke and then I had NO contractions!!
Good luck!
steph~ hehe how embarrassing would that be???
kristin and katie~ don't worry about giggling, i am too... now. all of my babies have followed a pattern: they come between 7 and 8 am, i lose weight, my oldest becomes EXTREMELY clingy, plus a few other bodily changes that i won't mention. ALL of these things happened, so... lil stinker.
georgia and everyone~ thanks for the wonderful vibes! my mom is leaving today, but it's ok. my MIL will be here in the morning. i don't care when the baby decides to come, i just want it to actually happen!
ali~ i was so relaxed even then! i was thinking that it would be my most peaceful labor...
erina~ hypnobirthing ROCKS! i've actually used it with all of my labors. it is so good for your mind and body. i also use some pointers from the bradley classes... which i've never attended. when i go into labor i use the rainbow relaxation cd and it REALLY helps to keep me calm, relaxed and focused. look into it!
tori~ see, this is exactly what i'm worried about. now that i know i'm dilating, if my water breaks it's gonna go fast!
Good luck! You should really get into writing you have such a way with words! I am so sorry that you had a false alarm. I thought that only happened in the movies, but I guess not!
sending you all my love and strength to get through these next couple of days... just checking in to see that you are OK. you are going to do fabulously when the time comes! xx
Oh this is so EXCITING! I wish you all the best and can't wait to hear about it when it IS time :)
WOW!
I hope you have her soon!!
Maybe then my mom will let me leave this town. :]
I hope.
Good luck with everything!
I really hope she comes soon!
She is going to be BEAUTIFUL!
the look on your face in that first picture . . . you just look so excited.
I hope baby Harmony comes home.
And thanks for the comments on my blog. :) It rains so much in Ohio we can ignore the plants all summer with results. How different is that from Utah??
You poor sweetie! I'm so sorry, I know you must have been so ready and excited. I'm betting it's very soon. Very soon indeed.
TAGGED!
if you're not too busy birthing a baby...
i thought you might have some fun playing along while you pass the time ;-)
i am starting here at your false start as i attempt to catch up and i know as i scroll towards the future, i will see your baby and i am soooo freaking excited :)
