the drama that girls may be

blood curdling screams are heard from their room 90 minutes after we put them in bed (and no less than 5 times out of bed during that time).

i call down: "what's going on?"
e: something hurts! i can't stop saying OWWWW!!!!
me: what hurts? what's going on? (i really don't want to waddle all the way downstairs for nothing.)
e: i don't know!!! it just HURTS! HELP ME!!! i think my skin is falling off!!!!"
me: your skin is falling off? seriously?
e: help me!!! it's falling off!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! i'm dying! my skin is FALLING OFF!!!"

at this point i finally drag myself down the 13 steps to the basement to find... a scab the size of an ant, no less than an ant, a pin point that has begun to detach from incessant picking. she's still screaming bloody murder, like this is the most unbearable moment in her life, when i pluck the rest of the scab off to expose slightly pink skin underneath... again the size of a pinhead. suddenly the screaming stops.

think you want girl's instead of boys???

AHH!! AN ANT?? (That's what my girl would have been screaming about)

Other thinks that look like ants:
toast crumbs
small rocks
freckles

Elasha should be perfect in high school productions of "Anything Goes" :)

This was hilarious! My boys do that when they think there is a big bug...

I've got 4 girls and 3 boys. Yep- girls are definitely more dramatic!

I don't think it matters, I think I have a little drama king at times. Everything is the end of the world. Lately Seth cries when he is excited about food or going outside. Cries, that isn't excitement to me!

Um, as a female who had a sister - who came from a mother who had two sisters - who grew up to have a daughter and an "only niece" it's a saying in our family that we "girlify our men." Meaning that there is so much drama constantly - that you either learn to adapt or you don't survive long in our family. Tom is a son of mainly brothers from a mother who had all brothers who were totally military - and he is having much trouble with this.

Get on the bus or pull the emergency brake.. there is no in-between.
