Tuesday night was our fabulous, giggle-inducing dance/tumbing recital. after sitting in a dark, sweaty room with 300 other gloating parents for more than an hour, it was finally our kids's turn to dazzle the audience. F has been taking tumbing for about 6 months, but he's such a goof you'd never really know it. they line all the kids up in a sitting train and then they take turns doing sommersaults, straddle rolls, hand stands, and cartwheels. so instead of staying in the train he scooted next to the front of the line and spun on his bum in circles until it was his turn. i don't think that his classmates were very happy with him. and when it came time for him to do the cartwheels, he just stands there and giggles, making the teacher flip him over and do all of the work each time. a little post-performance chocolate love spread all over his face
next was E. we've been out of town for a lot of her recent classes so i was nervous that she wouldn't remember her routine. but darn it all, she's the star of her class! i have a hard time remembering though that she's the oldest kid in the class, simply because she's the shortest there... even though she's about 2 years older than most of the other girls.
see her, third from the left, smaller than even the 3 year old's in her class. she's standing next to the only other 5 year old. ;-D
and G hung in there through the whole performance with only one mishap:
apparently the diaper was just too much to handle with the heat
how would you like to be handed a diaper by a 1 1/2 year old baby, in the dark, in the middle of a performance?
i am beginning to think that i post to many pictures. what do you think?
hope your weekends are filled with demolition derbies, babies, and fantastic smells!
