spc apple evolution

with three kids and a baby i'm often finding food items in places i wish i hadn't. last week i had put out a few apples on the table for *display.* well, that didn't last long. for one full day i listened to the three of them whine,
"i want an apple! can i have an apple? they look so yummy! i wanna eat them!"
so i gave in and let them take my cute little fall display with the admonition,
"if you want it, you have to eat ALL of it. i don't want to find half-eaten apples all over the house."
any guesses as to what i found all over the house?...
however, i was somewhat delighted to find that they had eaten and ditched them in degrees. when placed back together for *display* we discovered the evolution of the apple...

this is so cute! it's so funny my niece does the same thing...she wants another apple or orange or whatever before she's finished the first leaving half eaten pieces of fruit all over. but this...it's like your kids planned it or something!
