in our church the children of the primary (ages 3-12) put on an entire church meeting for the congregation once a year...obviously with the help of their teachers and leaders. both e and f had small speaking parts which were adorable to listen to. f did NOT want to sit with his class and spent the whole 80 minutes going back and forth between our seat and where he was supposed to sit. when it was his turn to get up and say his part he did exactly what i knew he would. his teacher whispered his part into his ear and he turned and whispered it back into the microphone. everyone giggled because no one could even hear him. my gentle little boy.

e volunteered to sing a solo for the program. she sang the second verse of the song, "this is my beloved son." no one was quite sure how she would do, considering that she's only 5 years old. but she totally aced it! i can't describe the joy of seeing your child standing alone in front of a crowd of about 500 people, singing the words of her heart. so stinkin' sweet. although she was so short that almost no one could see her standing behind the pulpit. so her voice was like a little unseen angel from heaven. hehe.

then today when she returned home from school she informed me that she had sang the song for her teacher... and her librarian... and her whole class. so much for not mixing church and state!

i've finally figured out how to use the video part of my camera so even YOU can see her sing. that would be H swinging behind her. and the slamming sound in the background would be F jumping superman style on the couch. ;-D
