happiness is a hammock

the weather has been sweet.
seventy five degrees
with a slight southern breeze;
leaves falling at our feet.
crunch, crunch, crunch

::i know that the weather is going to change soon to cold, colder, and coldest. but for now, i'm enjoying the ability to go out and sway on the hammock, watching the leaves descend like angels.

::i love how my yard looks in the fall, i don't have to worry about my weedy lawn anymore.

::we're still harvesting from the garden, 5 huge pumpkins and 20 cantelope to go

::i'm trying to find the positive in having E in school. every time i contemplate pulling her out i just KNOW it's the wrong thing for her and i *right* now, despite how much i want to have her here. i can't really explain the feelings in my heart. one positive thing about having her there is that i'm actually enjoying my other kids while she's gone. i had no idea how much time and energy she was receiving from me.

::because of this, i've found that G isn't always a monster. yes, she growls at babies, but the majority of the time she's really sweet and funny. and still dirty.

::going to a homeschool conference this weekend. (see how torn i am???) looking forward to hearing great ideas. i love these conferences because if nothing else, i'm learning how to be a more pro-active mother.

::playing *wendy witch* in the neighborhood and delivering yummies to families we know and even cranky people too. we are equal opportunity cookie distributors.

here's the wendy witch poem, so that you can spread the love in your neck of the woods. cheesy? YES. fun? invariably. i always put one up in my own window so that

1) i don't have to do it twice and

2) i don't feel rejected if no one witches me... ;-D

Wendy Witch has come to town,
To leave some goodies, as you have found!
Please continue this greeting, this “WITCHLY” call. . .
To avoid Wendy’s curse you have ONE DAY, that’s all.
1st: Make 2 treats, 2 witches, and 2 notes like this.
Deliver to 2 neighbors, who may have been missed!
Don’t let them see you. Be sneaky no doubt. . .
And look to make sure they put WENDY WITCH out!
2nd: Color and post Wendy where she’ll be seen.
You must leave her there until Halloween.
This will scare other witches that may come.
Be sure to participate,JOIN IN THE FUN!
YOU HAVE ONLY ONE DAY, SO ACT AND BE QUICK.
Leave your goodies at doors where the witch hasn’t hit!
Deliver at dark, when there is not light.
Ring the doorbell or knock and run out of sight!
Soon in every house window a witch will be seen.
WITCH WENDY will remind us to have . . .
A Happy Halloween!

We got Boo'd. So instead of a witch in the window we have a ghost. :)

Best of luck with E and school. :/

Homeschooling is definately one of those topics that people tread lightly on and have their own opinions about. You have to do what is right for your family and not listen what others say. I'm sure you will make the right decision in the end.

such a beautiful photo of the 2 of you!

i am thinking too of how cold it's going to get and enjoying every little bit of being able to run out in just a sweater and not 3 layers and boots and hat and mitts. please let this last.

L-o-v-e the shoes. I want them. But I'm pretty sure you don't wear a 10, do you? Darn-it.
